Liam has started to make a sound that sounds a lot like Mama. Justin swears that he's is saying mama because he starts talking when he's tired and doesn't want Justin to hold him anymore.
I've got one dress done! I'm proud of it because I had to deal with fabric with a huge border of embroidery and a circle skirt. But it turned out great. Well, I thought I was getting ahead on this sewing thing, but Sis Shelly dropped off fabric for another pioneer dress and NINE skirts. Ugh.

Ugh
I'm sick, Liam's sick, it's fun!
Liam woke up with a temp of 101 F on Saturday morning. We spent the next three days watching him like a hawk, not sure if it was teething or sickness. Answer: Sickies!
Yesterday I got a new "toy". I'm doing some sewing for McCall patterns and they wanted the dresses serged around the edges to finish them off. So yesterday, I went out and bought the cheapest one I could find. Now, I was not a huge fan of the serger. I always thought that they were really only good for one thing, unnecessarily expensive, and because of the cutting blade, if you screw up, you're really toast. However now, I've used it a little bit, I'm not quite so critical. I'm still a little scared in case cut something wrong, but I've got to say, it does make seams tidy and look more professional. Also, the very patronizing salesperson at Joann store informed me that sergers can do more than overlock fabric. I might take a class when I have time to try to get more use out of this thing. In the mean time, french seams are going to be a lot easier!
The first dress was a pain to cut out because of the beading on the overlay, but I'm almost done. It's going remarkably fast despite having to serge around all the edges. I'm glad to finally have project that's going well.
After I'm done with this dress, I have two more flower girls dresses, two pioneer dresses, six skirts, two hooter hiders, Liam's crib bumpers and three sheets, and a dress (for me!) At least I'll have plenty to keep me busy!

6 Months pictures
We got Liam's six month portraits done on Monday. He cooperated a lot better this time than at one month. He smiled for the camera the first half and didn't start screaming until we were done. We're improving! These are the pictures that JC Penny send us with the crummy resolutions. The actual pictures are much better.

What happened to the last week?
I've managed to unearth myself from enough fabric to see the end of the tunnel. Only two more dresses need to be constructed and one needs the finishing touches and then I'm done! Then I get to start on some flower girl dresses for McCall patterns. That I don't mind doing because I like that sort of sewing.
Today Liam started to crawl forward. He lunged enough times to get to his mirror. Then I noticed that he started to play with the rolling ball on it with a fine pincer grasp. When did that happen? Also yesterday I was trying get some pictures because it was probably the last time he was going to wear an outfit, and realized that he had been sitting up for about ten minutes without any issues. I need to start paying better attention.

THHHHBBBBPPPPT to you too
Liam's favourite trick lately is to blow raspberries at everyone. It's cute in an insulting kind of way.
This week continues to be one that makes me want to beat my head against a wall. After fielding even more calls from the dress people and trying to get some sewing done, Liam's neediness has grow into full blown separation anxiety. He's mostly okay, unless he knows that I'm around and I've walked away. It's been fun. Plus it's the week before spring break, so Justin has tons of homework and tests, he's not really be available, leaving me to hold down the fort, keep the home fires burning, etc. I have some fun stuff planned next week like Liam's six months portraits and other stuff, so I have something to look forward to as well as being done with these @#$% dresses.
