I have nothing better to blog about, or at least nothing that won't sent me into long rants about people who need to grow up, I decided to do one of those "fill in the blank" posts:
A- Attached or Single: Attached
B - Best Friends: Risa
C - Cake or Pie: Cake, unless it's boston cream pie, which is still technically a cake
D - Day of choice: Friday
E - Essential Item: Right now, a microwave
F - Favorite Color: Red, red, and more red
G - Gummy Bears or Worms: Bears are fun to bite off the heads. Worms are more difficult to tell which end it which. But I usually comment to Justin about the hermaphroditic qualities of worms to gross him out so they're fun too.
H - Hometown: I am hometown-less.
I - Indulgence(s): Showers, sleeping more than two hours at a time, not having a toddler constantly clinging to my knee
J - January or July: January
K - Kids: One boy, Liam. Am currently working on what Justin refers to as "Bug II"
L - Life is incomplete without: the internet.
M - Marriage Date: May 29th, 2004. I think. Is that right, Justin?
N - Number of Siblings: Two brothers, one sister, all married
O - Oranges or Apples: Oranges if they are clementines, Apples if they are galas or fujis
P - Phobias or Fears: Heights, spiders, starving to death, and occasionally agoraphobia
Q - Quotes: "I have never let my schooling get in the way of my education"-Mark Twain or "A true friend stabs you in the front"-Oscar Wilde
R - Reason to smile: Liam is turning one in 26 days.
S - Season: Do you mean what season is it right now, in which case it is summer, and a bloody hot one. Or do you mean my favourite one, which is winter when I'm in the middle of summer, and spring when it's winter. I'm usually content with autumn.
T - Tag Three Friends/Family: Who ever the heck wants to do this.
U - Unknown fact about me: All my fingers except my thumbs are double jointed.
V - Very favorite store: Probably costco. Meaning if I had a ton of money, that's probably where I would spend it because that's where we spend the most money anyway. I also love Ikea, Macy's, and Bombay Company when there used to be one around here.
W - Worst habit: Teeth grinding.
X - X-ray or Ultrasound: Ummmmm, I've had unpleasant experiences with both. But ultrasounds are usually for happier reasons, so ultrasounds.
Y - Your favorite food: Bulgogi
Z - Zodiac: Aries. Fits, doesn't it?

Liam's first steps
Today Liam took his first real steps. He was hanging on to my knee when Justin tried to entice him over with his pacifier. So Liam let go of me, waddled over with four steps and fell into Justin. He looked very pleased with himself.

Best blog ever
I can't remember how I found this blog, but it is the funniest thing I've seen for a while. We all have heard the horror stories of child birth gone wrong, the 72 hour labours, the incompetent doctors, nurses, or hospital staff. This blog however, is a labour and delivery nurse discussing all the kooks, crazies, and incompetent patients. Some of it is a little crass, but mostly harmless.

It walks!
Yesterday, Liam took two steps. He was cruising along the futon with gay abandon and suddenly threw up his arms while still walking. He then caught himself on the futon again. I think this is a sign on things to come!
Obviously, Liam is now standing unsupported. I can set him on this feet, but he's favourite game is pull himself up to his feet on the bed and jump. Usually he falls over right away, but that doesn't stop him from doing it over and over and over again.
A few days ago I walked into his room before heading to bed to check on him. He woke up for a second, said very cleary, "Mama", and rolled over back to sleep. I think we've cemented in the that word. He also is now saying something that sounds like "kitty" when he's chasing after the cats. Fortunately, he mostly does it to India who is a good sport and takes it.

This comic cracks me up because not only does Liam say uh-oh, he says it with this exact emphasis. I cut it out and put it up on my fridge.

Thanx for the pitchers of the preggers lady
I read about this blog in the Deseret News and decided to check it out. It's a satire of the typical LDS girl's blog complete with subjects that extend nowhere beyond pregnancy and marriage, Utahnics, and all the emoticon and IM speak that I disdain. It's pretty funny. It is making fun for most aspects of the LDS culture, but not the religion.

Ice cave
The mini fridge upstairs in the family room stopped working a couple of days ago. I was somewhat concerned because that's where I keep Liam's food due the proximity to the nursery. So I started to poke around to see if I could fix it. When I opened the freezer portion, I discovered that it had frozen into a solid block. One hour of chiseling ice away, and a half hour with a hair dryer, I finally cleared out the mess. The culprit? A single can of fruit juice that I have a sneaking suspicion was from my wedding. Oddly, it was kind of nice to be elbow deep in ice because it was cold. Dang, it's hot!

You're older than you've ever been
And now you're even older!
I have some what of a macabre sense of humour. Today I found a Death Calculator that calculates the time you have before you die based on your age and BMI. Apparently, I have 59 years, 9 months and 23 days left, or 1887488884 secs left. .......1887488879..........1887488878............1887488877.
