I'm grumpy

I'm in crappy mood. Here's a blog to just reinforce my opinion of the human race.

The freakin' creepiest thing I've ever seen

I find most of the dolls that people collect really unsettling. I have a few dolls myself, but I don't display them and most of the them have sentimental value. However, I don't think that M. Alexandria comes close to this.

I'm so proud of myself. Today I managed to play through the entirety of George Winston's version of Pachelbel's Canon. It wasn't even remotely close to up to speed or without mistakes, but hey, I've never gotten that far before.

I swear I just took him to the doctor's

Liam developed a slight fever on Wednesday night. It increased until 103 and he still had it this morning so I took him to the pediatrician. He informed us that Liam has won his very own....viral infection! While it stinks because there is nothing I can give him other than Motrin and Tylenol, I'm glad it wasn't something else like strep because Liam and I would have to be separated because of the pregnancy. He's acting a little happier today than yesterday even to the point he will play by himself for a few minutes before he whines and climbs into my lap.

I'm suddenly reminded of Calvin and Hobbes

Today I heard Justin yelling in the hallway "Liam, no!". This is not all that unusual. Then Liam comes waddling down the hall towards me sans diaper. Guess we didn't have to wait all that long for the stripping.

Now that I'm into the second trimester, the cravings are starting to hit. The only consistent one so far is Taco Bell's 7-layer burritos. But today I realized that I was very sad there was not a Kenny Roger's Roasters anywhere around here. Mmmmmmmm, fattening roasted greasy chicken.

Liam's favourite pastime now is running laps in the upstairs hall. He loves being chased, chasing the cats, and can turn around without falling over about half the time. He's also started a new trick of lifting up his shirt and sucking on the hem. I just can't wait until he starts stripping in public.

This was one of those "memes" (never heard of that term) that was on my sis-in-law's blog. You can do it if you want. Mostly I wanted to do this one because I wanted an excuse to complain about people. I hate it when someone comes back from a trip to another country and starts telling me about how the natives eat all these "weird things". I usually give them a stony look and tell them that it's probably not so weird to those countrymen. Anyway, I haven't eaten many things off this list (even excluding the teas and alcohol), but I don't take that a sign I haven't eaten many "weird" things.

Here are the instructions:

1) Copy this list into your blog or journal, including these instructions.
2) Bold all the items you’ve eaten. (I've highlighted everything I've tried in red)
3) Cross out any items that you would never consider eating. (I did them in italics and blue because I couldn't find how to strike out)
4) Optional extra: Post a comment here at http://www.verygoodtaste.co.uk/ linking to your results.

Question

So I liked having a baby in September. It was nice not to have a hot little heater on my shoulder during the summer like my mom said that spring babies are (I'll find out myself next April). I did have to worry the cold, but is there really a bad/good time to have a baby? However I'm finding myself running into this problem:

Most of the programs like library readings, Discovery Gateway, and Thanksgiving Pointe have a minimum age of 18 months. Liam will not hit that until next March. Until then, I'm stuck with a very active toddler indoors during the winter. Any suggestions?
