I am a (not so) secretly sentimental person. I traded in the infant car carrier to Babies R Us to get 25% off a new car seat and to make sure it was recycled. It was time anyway; it was manufactured three and a half years ago and was getting close to its expiration date. I felt very sad when I walked away, like I was abandoning my babies's car seat at the counter. RIP Classic Pooh Graco Snugride. You served us well. I hope you enjoy your (short lived) stay at the recycling plant.
Alana is Liam redux. She is just as mischievous, energetic, crazy, and clever as her brother. She also could have a serious future in street fighting. After her nap this afternoon, she head-butted me, grabbed my hand and bit down, tried to gouge out my eyes, and then bit my nose, all in surprisingly rapid succession.
Burlington Coat Factory has very cute suits for boys as little as two years old. And very affordable at $25.
Apparently if I wanted to buy a coat for Alana, I need to have done so immediately after Christmas. I didn't think she needed a coat this first year, but forgot that since she is no longer cocooned in her car seat and the bunting, she's going to be exposed to the elements. But when I looked at Target, Babies R Us, and BCF, I couldn't find anything beyond light cardigans. I even found two piece bathing suits for toddlers at Target. I found some boy's coats and I was tempted to just buy one, but I have enough trouble with people thinking Alana is a boy so I resisted. It occurred to me on the way home that since she'll only need it for the next month or two, I should just look at DI or Savers. Until then, she'll just have to be swamped in one of her brother's coats.
Liam has been secretly teaching himself the alphabet. Justin was reading him Richard Scarry's What Do People Do All Day. When he reached the page with the teacher standing in front of the chalkboard, Liam started to point to letters and name them. I think he will be signed up for preschool this fall.
