I don't like you; you don't like me. Can't we just get along?

One of the things that I can't stand more than anything else is hypocrites. When I don't like someone, I don't pretend to be nice to them to their face and then smack talk them to everyone else.

I went to a baby shower on Saturday. I was not in a great mood because of a bunch of other crap that had happened earlier that day. So I decided to be quiet so I wouldn't snap at anybody who didn't deserve it. However, there was this girl there that I don't get along with so well. It has a long back story, but for the most part, I just ignore her so I don't make a scene. However, she felt the need to compliment me on my shoes and dress and wouldn't go away. Not only that, but her daughter tried to gouge out Liam's eyes and I yelled at her to leave him alone while her mother did nothing. But apparently behind my back this girl has felt the need to tell everyone that I'm conceited and pretentious because I grew up with a "privileged" childhood. Okay, yeah, so my parents took care of me and made sure I was fed and clothed, but I don't remember any silver spoon or servants around. But I've been accused because I went to private schools (up into the fifth grade) and think that I'm better than everyone else. Okaaaaaay...... I went to private schools because there is no public schools for ex-pats overseas. However, when I moved here, went to public school just like everyone else. And when did going to private schools make someone think they are better than everyone else?

Okay, so the point that I'm trying to make is not all the (wrong) reasons that this person thinks that I'm conceited, but the fact that she's friendly right in my face. I wish that she would accept the fact that I'm not fond of her, I know she knows I'm not fond of her, and stop being such a hypocrite.

  1. What?! Who is this obnoxious friend? Someone I know? Don't worry - I would be plenty rude to her face for you. No hypocrisy here!

  2. "Friend" is such a relative term here. Unless you mean like, "Excuse me for biting off your head-my 'friend', Aunt Flo is about to visit." I will acknowledge that I know her, unfortunately, and it's about it.
