경복궁 Gyeongbokgung Changing of the Guard

After Dongdaemun, we headed back the apartment. We wanted to catch the changing of the guard at 1:00, but were a little bit early. I wanted to stop at a restaurant in the subway station (seriously, there is everything in the those subway stations; you could live down there permanently without lacking for anything), but Justin didn't want to eat at the chain restaurant. I mention this because it plays a bigger role later.

I've broke up this post into separate ones. I took at look at my camera roll, and I took over two hundred pictures, so it's probably best.

Gyeongbokgung is the largest and most impressive of all the palaces in Seoul. It's been excavated over several years and grew in size. It's about the twice the size from when I had visited previously. It's also the site of the assassination of Queen Min, something I will get to later. the first thing we got to see was the changing of the guard. I accidentally jaywalked in front of a policemen to get a good shoot of the guard. Oops. They also started earlier than 1:00, so if you plan on seeing them, so early.
